Former Miss Universe, Venezuelan Alicia Machado has decided to close her Twitter account after the avalanche of criticism she received when referring to North Korea and South Korea as “Chinas.”
Via her account @ aliciamachado77, the actress and singer alluded to the recent attack from North Korea on a South Korean island, that took place this past Tuesday.
“Tonight I want to ask you to join me in a prayer for peace, that these attacks between the Chinas do not make our situation worse,” she wrote yesterday.
After receiving a lot of criticism, the Venezuelan beauty chose to delete her Twitter account and explained that she did it because things got “nasty” with some users. Machado explained: “I now have a lot of psychopaths on the account and it’s best I start another one, kisses.”
Machado was the fourth miss from Venezuela to be crowned Miss Universe. Machado made a lot of noise during her reign in 1996 after a significant weight increase (22 pounds) and getting called an “eating machine,” by Donald Trump who owns the organization.
Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo is now 33 and has a daughter, she is the only Miss Universe who posed for Playboy.
