Michael Brea a part time actor decapitated his mother with a 3-foot ornate masonic sword, on Tuesday night. According to reports, Brea saw the devil in his church going mother.
The actor, 31, seen in the season 4 of TV series “Ugly Betty” and recently in the movie “Step Up 3D”, allegedly used a samurai sword to behead his mother, Yannick Brea, aged 55.
It’s in the Prospect Heights, Brooklyn apartment that he shared with his sister, twin brother and mother, that the young man allegedly killed her while reciting verses from the Bible and ordering her to repent.
After his arrest, he was immediately taken to a psychiatric hospital where he told doctors he had done so because he had “seen the devil, looking at his mother”.
The latest reports suggest that the Haitian-American actor had financial problems and went to a Freemason meeting, hours before committing the horrible act.
The police is also blamed for failing to act fast enough.
