Kevin Hart has spent years proving that an ice bath can be a perfectly reasonable place to conduct an interview. Now Cold As Balls is getting its biggest streaming stage yet.

Seven new episodes of the sports interview series arrived on Netflix, with Hart climbing into the tubs alongside a guest list that includes Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Rob Gronkowski, Cooper Flagg, Sean O’Malley, Zlatan Ibrahimović and IShowSpeed. OBB Media says the season was filmed live at Fanatics Fest NYC and marks the show’s first move to Netflix.

The format is still absurdly simple: put famous athletes in freezing water, let Hart make them uncomfortable, and see whether the conversation becomes more honest or at least more chaotic.

The guest list tells you where sports media is going

Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic represent generational athletic greatness. Gronkowski is now as much an entertainment personality as a retired football star. Cooper Flagg represents the next wave of basketball celebrity. Sean O’Malley and Zlatan Ibrahimović bring combat sports and global soccer into the mix.

Then there is IShowSpeed, whose inclusion says something different.

Speed is not a traditional athlete, but he exists directly inside modern sports culture. He travels to major events, competes in physical challenges, creates enormous live audiences and increasingly shares space with the stars he grew up reacting to online.

Putting him in the same season as Serena and Djokovic is not an accident. Sports entertainment no longer has a clean line separating players, broadcasters, creators and fans.

Cold As Balls was built for clips before streaming took over

OBB says the series has generated more than two billion views across its run. That history matters because the show’s structure has always been unusually compatible with social video.

Hart does not need an hour-long desk interview to generate a moment. The discomfort creates immediate stakes. A guest reacts physically, Hart pushes a joke, somebody reveals something unexpected and the segment can be cut into pieces that travel on their own.

In that sense, Netflix is not teaching Cold As Balls how to be internet-friendly. It is importing a format that was already designed around shareable moments.

Fanatics Fest became the perfect set

Filming at Fanatics Fest also gives the season a different energy. The event increasingly operates like a giant crossover convention for professional sports, collecting, celebrity culture and creators. Hart interviewing athletes inside that environment means the show is surrounded by the exact audience most likely to understand every reference.

Marcello Hernández also makes a special appearance, adding another layer of comedy to a format that has never pretended to be traditional sports journalism.

And that is ultimately why Cold As Balls keeps working. Nobody watches because an ice bath is the ideal environment for serious conversation. They watch because Kevin Hart found a ridiculous setup that can make even extremely media-trained guests feel slightly less in control.

Netflix now gets seven new chances to turn that discomfort into clips everybody sends around the next day.
